Comments Policy

As you know, Cook. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. is all about conversation. But without a few ground rules, the discussion can turn into a shouting match that discourages others from entering.

By posting on this blog, you agree to the following:

  1. You may comment without registering. You can log in via Disqus, OpenID, Twitter, Facebook – or not at all. It’s up to you.

  2. You may post anonymously. We don’t recommend this, but you may do so if you wish. If users abuse this rule, we will change it.

  3. You may post follow-up questions. If you have a question, chances are you aren’t alone. Others probably have the same question! We would rather receive your comments here than via email, as it saves time responding to several people at once.

  4. You may disagree. We welcome discussion and debate. However, we ask if you disagree with us or any other user, do so in a respectful manner. We seek civil conversation, not “blood sports” and shouting matches.

  5. We reserve the right to delete comments. This is our blog, and we have no obligation to publish your comments. The First Amendment gives you the right to express your opinions on your blog, not on ours.

Specifically, we will delete your comments if you post something: a) snarky; b) off-topic; c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or otherwise violates or encourages others to violate our sense of decorum and civility or any law (including intellectual property laws); or d) spam (i.e. attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services. You may, however, post a link to your site or your most recent, relevant blog post.

  6. You retain ownership of your comments. We do not own them and we explicitly disclaim any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on this site, you agree that you retain all ownership rights in what you post here and that you relieve us from any and all liability that may result from those postings.

  7. You grant us a license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, nonexclusive, and royalty free. You grant me the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, a video, or presentation.

In short, our goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, respectful people. We believe this comments policy will facilitate this.

Happy posting! We look forward to talking food with you!
